About the Project
I was tasked with creating a better navigation system for the Department of Education website. Applying modern UI elements enhanced the navigation capabilities of the site while allowing for more efficient usage.
After completing a card sort, I concluded that the navigation needed subcategories. I redesigned the site map to easily define the categories.
The DoE serves educators who are laying the foundation for our future by teaching out children.
This redesign would allow for a better experience and more efficient interactions that would and inspire our teachers.
As a teaching assistant for UT Austin's UX/UI Boot Camp, I had the pleasure of helping guide Gini through the rigorous 24-week program. Her warm personality and superb communication skills served her exceptionally well in all aspects of the program: asking thoughtful questions, justifying her design choices, and working through challenges with teammates and instructional staff. I was equally impressed with Gini's work ethic and diligence, as she routinely gave each and every assignment her full effort, even when faced with particularly difficult new concepts.
