Common Questions
What is included in the WordPress Care Plan?
The WordPress Care Plan is designed to help keep your existing WordPress website secure, updated, and running smoothly. It includes monthly WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates; security and spam monitoring; uptime monitoring; monthly backup verification; front-end checks after updates; and up to 30 minutes of minor content edits each month.
Your website remains on your current hosting account, and hosting fees continue to be paid directly to your hosting provider.
What counts as a minor content edit?
Minor content edits are small updates that can usually be completed within your included 30 minutes, such as changing text, replacing an existing image, updating business hours, adjusting a link, posting a provided announcement, or making a small formatting correction.
New pages, new sections, extensive copywriting, new functionality, major design changes, custom coding, e-commerce updates, or troubleshooting issues caused by third-party tools may require a separate quote.
Does WordPress Care include hosting?
No. The WordPress Care Plan is a management-only plan. You keep ownership of and payment responsibility for your hosting account, domain registration, email service, premium plugins, and other third-party subscriptions.
I can help identify issues related to those services and recommend next steps, but charges from your host, software providers, or other vendors are separate.
How quickly are updates and support requests completed?
Routine maintenance is completed on a monthly schedule. Minor edit requests are generally completed within 3–5 business days, depending on current workload and the complexity of the request.
If your site experiences an urgent outage or a critical issue, I will prioritize assessing the problem as soon as possible during normal business hours. Response time means I have acknowledged and started reviewing the issue; the time required to resolve it can depend on the cause, hosting provider, plugin developer, or other third party.
Can you guarantee that my website will never go down or be hacked?
No provider can guarantee that a website will never experience downtime, a security issue, or a conflict caused by a hosting environment, plugin, theme, or third-party service. Regular updates, monitoring, backups, and checks reduce risk and help identify problems sooner, but they cannot eliminate all risk.
What is included in the Lean SEO Plan?
The Lean SEO Plan provides focused monthly SEO work around one primary priority at a time:
- Stability & Visibility
- Growth Pages & Keywords
- Technical Cleanup & Tracking
Depending on the monthly focus, work may include keyword and ranking review, Search Console monitoring, on-page improvements, internal-link updates, technical issue review, tracking checks, and a concise progress update.
This structure keeps the work strategic and realistic rather than spreading a limited monthly budget across too many competing priorities.
Does the Lean SEO Plan include blog writing or new website pages?
Not automatically. The Lean SEO Plan may include recommendations, outlines, keyword guidance, edits to existing priority pages, or content briefs when content is part of the selected monthly focus.
Full blog writing, extensive copywriting, multiple new landing pages, large-scale content migration, photography, video, graphic design, and major web development are separate services unless specifically stated in your agreement. SEO retainers should define exact monthly outputs rather than treating “SEO” as unlimited work.
When should I expect SEO results?
SEO is a long-term visibility strategy, not an instant-results service. The timeline depends on your starting point, your website’s technical health, local competition, website authority, content quality, search demand, and how quickly recommendations can be implemented.
In many cases, the first month focuses on establishing a baseline, identifying priorities, and addressing the most important issues. Meaningful trends often take several months to develop, and sustained work is generally needed to build and maintain organic visibility. Rankings, traffic, leads, and placement in Google results cannot be guaranteed.
What is included in the Growth SEO & Website Plan?
The Growth SEO & Website Plan is the most comprehensive ongoing option. It may include ongoing SEO, content optimization, website updates, Google Business Profile growth, reporting, and strategic guidance.
Work is prioritized each month based on your goals, business needs, search performance, website condition, and the opportunities likely to have the greatest impact. It is an ongoing partnership—not unlimited on-demand design, development, content, or marketing work.
Is the Growth Plan a substitute for an in-house marketing team?
It can provide consistent strategic support for a small business, but it is not automatically a complete replacement for every marketing role. Paid advertising, social media management, high-volume content production, media buying, video production, extensive PR or link-building campaigns, email marketing campaigns, sales follow-up, and major website development are not included unless specifically added to your agreement.
If a larger initiative would help you meet your goals, I will recommend it and provide a separate scope and quote before beginning the work.
Can I switch, pause, or cancel my plan?
Yes. Plans can be adjusted as your business needs change. I ask for 30 days’ written notice for cancellations or plan changes so that open work can be completed, access can be transferred appropriately, and your final monthly priorities can be documented.
If you need to pause support, please reach out before the next billing cycle. Pausing may affect the availability of your recurring plan rate and scheduling when you are ready to restart.
What is not included in monthly plans?
Unless specifically stated in your agreement, monthly plans do not include:
- Major website redesigns or new website builds
- Custom development, complex integrations, or e-commerce work
- Hosting, domain renewals, email service, premium plugins, software subscriptions, or other third-party charges
- Paid advertising setup, management, or ad spend
- Full copywriting, ongoing blog production, photography, video, or extensive graphic design
- Large-scale content migration or new-page creation
- Emergency work outside normal business hours
- Guaranteed rankings, traffic, lead volume, sales, uptime, or search-engine placement
Any work outside the agreed monthly scope will be discussed and approved separately before it begins.
